The Aesthetic Capacity

Unlike in much primarily European Anglo-phonic perception, there is no rift between philosophical enquiry and artistic endeavour in most cultures of the Asian traditions. Particularly in India, art remains an integral part of a persistent, if complex, tradition of social, cultural and religious pursuits; holding the artist and the spectator/aesthete on equal and exalted positions.

This inherent unity and integration in spiritual, artistic and scientific thought, I am constantly drawn to investigate the potential spiritual and aesthetic capacity of an artist and her creative impetus as well as fundamental epistemic aspects of art and aesthetic experience.
